3 Ways To Spring Into Your Unit Or Apartment

Home & Garden Blog

Spring is finally here, which means an end to short winter days and cold evenings by the fire. Outside, the birds are busy building their nests and foliage is springing to life. For those who have gardens, spring is a time to enjoy the daffodils, blossoms, wisteria, and other blooms which emerge as the weather warms up. However, if you're in an apartment or unit without a garden, it may be harder to enjoy the fruits of spring.

Fortunately, a lack of garden doesn't mean you can't recreate the renewing spring vibe in your home. Here are three ways that you can replicate the essence of the new season in your apartment or unit.

1. Order some flowers

One of the benefits of spring is that florists have an abundant stock of spring flowers at very reasonable prices. Cut flowers such as daffodils, gerberas, sunflowers, and marigolds are readily available, and will add a colourful and aromatic touch of spring to your home.

If you'd prefer a longer lasting spring bloom, then many florists can also deliver small planter boxes of flowering spring pot plants. These can be placed on your balcony, in your courtyard, or in a sunny location indoors, and will provide long lasting floral beauty throughout the spring months.

2. Invest in some essential oils

For many people, spring is all about the wafts of flowers and blossom smells that you experience as you go about your daily business. If you're in an apartment or unit, especially in a high rise apartment building, you may not get to experience these olfactory sensations once you're behind closed doors.

Using essential oils is a great way to recreate the smell of spring in your home. Good quality, modern essential oils are pure, distilled essences of flowers and plants, and can be diffused or sprayed around your home to recreate the aroma of spring. Many oils offer therapeutic and detoxifying properties as well as great smells, so they can help to rid your home of the mould, mildew, and bacteria that can build up over the winter months.

3. Add some spring foliage to your soft furnishings

With spring comes a new range of home decor designs on offer in department stores and online. New bedding, sofa cushions, or wall hangings will bring a fresh and bright feel to your unit or apartment.

Opt for crisp white fabrics with a printed or embroidered floral motif to bring the beauty of spring indoors. Adding a few drops of your favourite essential oil to your wash cycle will mean that your new fabrics smell as well as look the part.

Living in a unit or apartment doesn't mean that you can't appreciate the visual beauty and exquisite scents of spring. With the above additions to your home, you'll be able to recreate the sensory experience and feeling of bliss that the new season celebrates. Consult with a florist for more information or assistance.

Custom Made Items For Your Home and Garden

Hello. My name is Dean and this is my home and garden blog. Last year, I decided I needed to improve the look of my home. I visited several home and garden centres and various different shops but I just couldn't find the items I wanted. I had this dream of creating a really cool and funky look based on an African design I had seen. My friend suggested that I customise the items to create the look I wanted and began to give me some lessons. I really enjoyed the process and I learnt a lot about how to improve your home and garden.
