You may well be aware that steam cleaning is a good way to look after your carpets at home. However, did you know that you can also use what is known as a "tile" steam cleaner to look after many other surfaces in your home? How does this work?
Explain The Difference
Tile steam cleaning products are machines that have been modified with an array of tools and attachments. They use the same principles of a traditional carpet steam cleaner, but you can also use them to very precisely clean countertops, windows, showers, bathtubs and furniture items.
How Do They Work?
These cleaners use only a small amount of water, which is then converted into a low moisture water vapour. They do not use any cleansing agents whatsoever, so you don't need to worry about chemicals. The steam that is emitted typically has a temperature of more than 200°F and exerts pressure onto the surface it is cleaning. The water is in fact heated to such a degree that it produces kinetic energy, resulting in a far superior clean.
Great For Grout
Tiles and grout can be notoriously difficult to clean at the best of times. The grout itself can harbour all kinds of bacteria. Tiny gaps also exist between the tiles and this can be a source of bacterial infection as well. By using a tile steam cleaner, you can be extremely precise to not only get rid of the dirt that you can see, but eliminate virtually all of the bacteria as well.
Tools For The Job
The cleaning machine will come with a variety of different tools which are specific for different jobs. For example, a pencil jet nozzle can be used to clean the grout. This can be attached to a round bristle nozzle, which you can use to agitate the area to make sure of total penetration. Once you have treated all the grout, you should clean it with a dry towel. (However, you should be careful to ensure that you do not apply too much pressure over too long a period of time to silicone-based grout, in order to avoid damage to the surface.)
Uses In Other Areas
While this machine will be perfect for all the tile surfaces in your home, remember that you can also use it to provide a superior clean in and around your toilet and bathtubs. These are areas where there is an elevated risk of contamination and traditional methods of cleaning may not be adequate.
